A Little Punk For Ya

I’m in by no means a punk rocker. Don’t get me wrong; I do love a lot of punk rock. London Calling and The Ramones are two of my favorite albums and there’s nothing better than listening to The Misfits (though you will never catch me wearing that shirt out in public…let alone anywhere). However, I am not going to be the guy constantly arguing what is and what isn’t punk rock or what is truer to the punk rock sound. I refuse to be that guy and the fact of the matter is, if you call yourself a punk rocker, you have done this at least three times this week and it’s only Monday. Who gives a shit what Green Day calls themselves? Who gives an even bigger shit if some band pre-dated The Stooges?
I give this little introduction as reason to why I’m going to include this song. I wanted to give a good punk rock song, but didn’t want to include something everyone’s heard like “London Calling” or “I Wanna Be Sedated.” I almost put down “Search And Destroy” because it’s one of my favorite punk songs and I never hear it in conversations about punk, but then I realized it’s in one of the guitar video games so that’s out. Instead, I’m going to put down something I really don’t think is well-known and I’m just going to cross my fingers on it. Watch it be something extremely well-known and this is the post that makes me lose all credibility. Okay, yeah; that’s funny. Like I had any to begin with. Anyway, it’s from The Ramones’ first album and is actually a prettier punk song if such a thing can exist. It’s also pretty short too so you can decide quickly if you hate or like it. Note: The YouTube version is not as “pretty” as the actual album version. Download this one and just trust me.
